Integration of Political Facts and Wayang Stories in Modern Indonesian Novels

The presence of political events and wayang stories integrated into modern Indonesian novels is an interesting fact. Political are facts knowledge, while fiction imagination. These two things can be brought together coherently in novels. used as historical settings, references for character development, plot, cultural references. This study aims to describe the way authors reveal history by using a narrative medium. article focuses on novels, namely Amba Laksmi Pamuntjak Pulang Leila S. Chudori. have one thing common, both which highlight event 30 September Movement Communist Party (PKI) 1965, usually referred G30S/PKI, life under New Order regime was intensively with stories. From point view history, raised issue policies government dissolve communism. policy considered imposed also upon people who were actually not involved, sympathizers, did even know what really happened. standpoint culture, characters naming novel’s characters. In Amba, plot refers story about love triangle between Salwa, Bhisma. fact, whose name title novel, character. Pulang, Dimas considers Bima Ekalaya metaphor himself. himself matters love, country though he exiled. Dimas, lives exile abroad, victim purge communism government.
